Ruins

If you wandered in the ruins

You may see the purpose

Of those broken-down towers

You may see a fireplace

Where everything is centered

The light of the castle’s heart

You look through the walls

Where joists used to be

Holding it all upward

Or you may see a pile of boulders

Covered in lichen and moss

Reclaimed by nature’s army

If you wandered in the ruins

You may see what was

Or you see what is
