Rolls and Water

You don’t get to roll yourself,

Put cinnamon sugar and butter

Upon your own existence.

You flow outwards,

Letting the juices of your life

Drip and dribble slowly.

Add syrup to the water,

Change color lightly,

Then burst full out.

It isn’t a dangerous thing,

Just a small undulating

Presence that stops

When the sand runs out.

Return to the river,

Float and cascade,

Into the eternal sea.
