Listening

There was a famous person

Giving a speech at an event.

Many people were listening,

Scribbling his ideas down

On notebooks and scraps of paper.

During the break they shared notes

And wrote down what they have missed.

Except for one woman,

Who sat tall yet silent,

Her eyes closed as if asleep

Or in deep meditation.

No one asked her for her notes.

At the end of the event

She went to her hotel room.

Opening up her laptop

She wrote on how the speaker

Made her feel inside.

She poured out all her emotions

Onto a single Web page.

She uploaded it to her blog

And went out for a simple dinner.

Everyone she knew thought she was brilliant.
