What are people’s stories?
Those little soliloquies
That wrap ribbons throughout their lives?
Are they complex scripts
That they are compelled to perform,
Or coloring books that they
Choose to fill with whatever they
There is no straight path to life,
No matter what the parents say,
No matter what society clamps down
Our lives are different, colorful yarns,
Whether they are gray and flat
Or vibrant and chaotic.
They wind and weave
And become the whole of us.
Let those lively ribbons fly
Aloft into the eternal winds.
Be your own unique story,
And let your story be.
