Morning Coffee

Slip it down slow

The coffee edges to the edge

Such cream and stevia

Comes to my lips

Alighting my taste buds

And coating my mouth

It’s a forgotten pleasure

Even though it’s done

All the time

I savor the fluid from the beans

Percolating and reviving

The start of another day

Begins with a cup

I let the coffee taste stand

Caressing my tongue

Then go for another sip

Awakening my morning
