The House is Weeping

The house is weeping

So little love for it

Just another place

I tried to care for it

But it was bought

For another person

Who is gone for good

It isn’t part of me

It never was me

It was so pretentious

Sitting on wooden bones

It now needs fixing

As its tears fell

Through the roof

Onto the ceiling

Leaving a spot

On the carpet

We will manage somehow

This house and I

An uneasy truce

For more years
