Melinda

Melinda twists and twirls in the wind

Arms spread wide to reach the sky

Legs dancing to the waves in the grass

Parts of her fall away like tears down her face

Leaving her bare bones to bleach in the sun

Then she stumbles and falls down

Rain upon her soul, washing and drowning

Until she recovers, and new flesh

Restores her balance in the dance

Now refreshed and alive in the breeze

She turns in swift arcs, laughing intently

Spinning and swirling to the breath of Nature

Guided by forces in and out of herself

She feels at one with life again
